The board is beautiful. It is also usually blank.
Most of the day it shows whatever somebody last typed at it. The things
actually worth glancing at on a kitchen wall - today's first meeting, the school pickup,
whose birthday it is - live on a phone, behind Apple's privacy wall, where no cloud
service can reach them.
VestaPilot is an app, not a service, for exactly that reason.
What it does
The morning brief, before coffee. Today's events and the weather, composed
on your phone and waiting on the wall when you walk in.
Ask Siri. "Post my next meeting with VestaPilot." No app to open.
Your automations, arbitrated. Two things wanting the board at once used to
mean one erased the other. Now they take turns, and the app tells you why.
Fitted properly. Long text is abbreviated, wrapped, and centred to the exact
grid - with colour chips - instead of being cut off mid-word.
Quiet hours that defer. An ambient post at 2am waits until morning rather
than being thrown away.
Your key never leaves your iPhone
There is no VestaPilot account, no VestaPilot server, and nothing to
sign in to. Your Read/Write key is stored in your iPhone's Keychain. Your calendar and
contacts are read on the device, composed into a message there, and the only thing that
ever crosses the network is the finished text - sent straight to Vestaboard, by you.
We could not read your board if we wanted to. There is no we.
